I have been struggling with my weight for the past few years and especially since the birth of my children. This has lead to numerous diet attempts and even one failed gym membership.
The scales and I have never been friends; however I'm sure it hasn't been friends with you either. I don't know of anyone who has warm fuzzy feelings for them. I have found that it hasn't been the scales that has been my motivation, but rather watching my clothes get bigger and bigger.
I started the Couch to 5 K program back before Thanksgiving. I'm not a fan of cold weather so I've soon gave it up after the weather started getting cooler.
It has been a slow process but I have been slowly walking off the pounds. I recently purchased a fitbit monitor. It's a little bit more sophisticated than a regular pedometer. And so far it has been a great motivational tool to keep me on track with my progress. It has been a nice little gadget that has daily progress report and you receive badges for certain accomplishments.
I just keep in mind what Dr. Oz says. Just 10 lbs. Focus on loosing 10 lbs then when that is done focus on the next 10 lbs. That way the goal doesn't look so daunting. I have successfully lost 17 lbs in the past 9-10 months. I only have about 23 more to go, but right now I'm just working on the next 10 lbs.

Scale hater here, too, so I weigh myself three times a week early in the morning. It is supposed to give you your truest weight.
Prevention Magazine just had an article on walking off pounds so you are doing the right thing, congratulations on your weight loss!
I have an Omron ped, similar to the one in the ad on your side bar, and love the thing. On days when I don't go to gym, it measures my steps while I walk.
