Waffles in the morning

The kids received a waffle maker for Christmas courtesy of Me Ma. I didn't think I would enjoy using this little gadget, but boy was I proven wrong. My son absolutely loves the fact that he can eat the "Lion King" and the elephants. He gives his little sister the GE-raffs. She has an affinity for giraffes anyway. She has a Little People giraffe that she constantly totes around and a stuffed TY baby giraffe that she calls Gi-gi that she sleeps with her. When we went grocery shopping last night I stocked up on some Belgian waffle mix and also purchased a dispenser bottle so that I could pipe the batter into the little crevices. This was a brilliant idea but the dispenser bottle left a lot to be desired. I just purchased a real cheap one I think I will go back and see if there is one that has a larger opening for the mouth. The batter was thicker than I thought and I made a mess trying to get the batter in the bottle; however, once it was loaded I was able to crank out a pride of lions, a pack of elephants and a whole herd of giraffes.

I also found another homemade bread mix at the grocery store. I am going to try it and see how successful I am with it. My husband didn't mind me buying it and told me it couldn't be any worse that the beer bread we tried. I still think that we might be better off with me finding a recipe and perfecting it than buying bread mixes. At least that way I know what is in the bread.

A ha! You are a baker, too!

I once baked all the bread for our family. I still love baking. I'm going to follow your progress. Happy baking, and knitting and crocheting!
