So the Secret of the Stole ii starts today.

The SOTSii starts today and guess what.... Are you guessing??? My yarn as of this morning at 6 am has yet to arrive. Now granted I did not expect to have yarn waiting on my front steps at 6 am but I do hope that by 6 pm when I arrive back home it will be there so I can do my swatch and then begin my first clue. I can't wait to start because as I progress I really would like to show my Nana along the way so she can see what my knitting has become.
Speaking of Nana, I finished weaving in the ends to her birthday fingerless gloves last night.

I have also cast on for another pair of a different pattern for my Mom's birthday in March. Maybe if I start on them now I can get them out of the way --- or I might just keep them for myself and then make her another pair....It's not like I don't have plenty of time.
I also started one of my Christmas presents. It's another Sofia Cowl from the One Skein Wonder book. It's being made on my KnitPicks Options -- US #9 needles with a 20" cable and Natural Plum colorway of Patons SWS that I bought while I was in Macon for my Purlin' Peaches meeting.Sofia Cowl #2
I also bought a skein of Patons SWS in the Natural Denim Colorway that I was going to make for another Christmas present but I am very tempted to turn it into fingerless gloves for me. I think that is what I will do that way I can go ahead and get mom's fingerless gloves out of the way.

My co-worker, from here on out I will call him "Al Capone", that is the nickname we gave him at the shop. We all have nicknames around here -- mine is Littlefoot. Al Capone gave it to me because he said I had small feet (I wear a size 7 shoe). Anyway I have talked to him the past couple of days and he is in good spirits and he will be going into surgery to remove the affected lymph node today. After that he has to go back to the doctor to see how good/bad things are then they will start him on treatments. Please continue to keep him in your prayers as he has been in mine since we found out the news.

Thankfuls:

  1. I am thankful for my co-workers for they help the day go by faster at work.
  2. I am thankful for SOTSii, so that I can better improve my knitting skills.
  3. I am thankful for Patons SWS -- I have a growing fondness for this soy/wool blend yarn.

Very nice fingerless gloves, and I love the colors you picked for the cowl. Bright and cheerful and fun.

Enjoy the Secret of the Stole! I can't wait to see progress pictures!

Update this thing, woman!! Did I ever mention that my cat's given name is Thomas? Yes, my cat has a given name.
Hey, when is the meeting in Dublin? I'm still not sure if I can make it, but I want to. Did you hear about the Annie Modesitt lessons, too?
What's the latest on the stole?
